If you are looking for some handy work tips for the week ahead, today we are going to talk about technology. Computers have been a massive part of our lives for the last decade or so and most new businesses rely on computers to store data and get things done day to day. Here are some of the most simple tips and tricks to help you use your computer more effectively this week and tips to help you with those niggling little issues.

Recover a lost tab

How annoying is it when you are working away on your computer and you accidentally press that little cross and lose the tab you were looking at? This is something that happens to a lot of us every day at work and Home and you don’t need IT Consulting Services to sort the issue out for you. Although you might think that a lost tab is gone forever, this isn’t actually the case. You can simply press shift and T to recover a tab immediately and carry on what you were doing.

Screenshotting part of a screen

Sometimes when you are browsing on your computer or you are working on something, you might see part of your screen which you want to share with a friend or a colleague. But don’t worry, you don’t have to print screen the whole thing and crop it in paint: there’s a much easier way. By clicking on the start button on windows you can type in snipping tool, and this will allow you to take an image of just a small portion of your computer screen.

Open a link in a new tab

When browsing online and looking at articles you may see a link which you want to click to further explore your chosen subject matter. The annoying thing is that a lot of the time, when we click a link it takes us away from our original article. However you don’t need to worry about this because all you need to do is press the middle of your mouse and the link will open in a new tab right away.

Reverse image search

There are many times when we are scrolling through Facebook or any other social media where images will come up which look a little suspect. A black lion or a pink elephant can make us stop and look for a moment, and the articles usually try to make us believe that these are totally legitimate discoveries. The good thing is that if you right click and press S, you can reverse search the image to find where it really came from.

Lock your computer in seconds

If you are working on something which you don’t want someone to see, it can be a mad rush to find the lock button on your computer before anyone comes over to your computer. The good news is that by right clicking and pressing L, you can lock it immediately.
