There are many ways in which you can motivate employees, this can be from standard bonuses & pay rises to helping employees in other areas of their life, like giving them time off to pick up their children once or twice a week. Reward Employees Personally
Pay rises and bonuses are great, but sometimes, employees can benefit from a more personal reward. Sit down with your employees and gain an understanding of what really matters to them, then reward them in this area. For example, if an employee has children, finishing early every week or two to pick their kids up may be a reward they would really appreciate over something financial. If a staff member enjoys their sports, purchase them tickets to a match for the team they support or if a team member likes the theater, treat them to a show. These rewards show you care, you listen and that you appreciate them, helping motivate them more.
Quarterly or Yearly Bonuses
Bonuses are one of the easiest ways to motivate employees! Each quarter or year, as long as staff hit their targets, offer them a bonus. The bonus can be a percentage of the profits you make or a percentage increase of their yearly earnings. Bonuses can be done every year as a larger sum, or quarterly at a reduced rate. If you are unsure about which one to do, ask your employees and see which one they would prefer. You could combine this with rewarding your employees personally to really increase the motivation of your workforce.
Send Your Employees on Training Courses
As employees, one of the most important things to them could be their career. Focus on this and motivate them by investing in their career and supporting them along the way. If you can see a staff member working really hard for a promotion, offer to help them by sending them on training courses to increase their skills. This shows you care about your staff members and are willing to support them and help them get better.
