In business, there’s something of a divide between creatives and lateral thinkers. While you may assume that the creatives would win out, it isn’t always the case. More often than not, workspaces are filled with people who do things by the book. These are straight thinkers who have gotten where they are with logic. When you enter the business world, you may find that such individuals don’t take your creative company seriously. They may discard you as an ‘airy fair creative’ or assume that their business model is better than yours by proxy. And, you don’t need us to tell you how frustrating that would be.

Admittedly, you do need some level of logical thinking to get far in business. Otherwise, you’re never going to be able to pull a profit or outshine your competitors. But, this total lack of care for creative types is a mistake. Boardrooms and profit margins aside, starting a business is a creative pursuit. To prove the doubters wrong, get well stuck into the following creative areas of your company.

Your product

It all starts with your product idea. Of course it does. This is the thing which sets you apart from everyone else. It’s your secret ammunition, and guess what; it needs a whole load of creativity behind it. You do, of course, get entrepreneurs who look for gaps in the market rather than engaging artistic flair. But, such individuals don’t have much personal investment in the products they create. That could lead to lackluster production and an inefficient sales method. By comparison, your creative nature makes you the ideal person to produce a winning product. While you do still need to pay attention to what’s already on the market, that’s a sideline to the main affair here. The main affair, of course, being that creative idea of yours. You’ll have the passion and love for that product to get it off the ground in all the right ways. Even if you don’t manage to find a market gap, your design choices and productions could soon set you apart. These are all benefits you’d never experience if you let the lateral haters crush your creative spirit.

Your branding

You could say that creative branding is just as important as your product itself. This is, after all, the first thing any customer is going to see when they search for your company. As such, you could say that getting this right is essential for crafting a creative business which works.  Again, lateral thinkers can make branding work to some extent. But, by really engaging your brain and developing a unique brand, you may end up with the edge. Remember that eye-catching is key when it comes to things like logos. You want a bright design and a company name which is unlike any others out there. The more creative you are here, the better chance you stand at success. So, ignore the doubters and get stuck in.

Marketing

Again, it’s possible to manage marketing without much creativity. Things like analytics and general business savvy could see logical entrepreneurs through. Again, though, there’s something cold about doing business that way. As such, individuals like these may not quite make as much of their marketing campaigns as they’d like. You, however, have the power to take marketing to the next level. That’s because you can have a whole load of creative fun here. We’re talking unique social media campaigns, Instagram snaps customers gobble up, and even apps to add an edge. You needn’t worry if you have the ideas but not the know-how, either. You can hire social media managers and mobile developers for your apps. Sadly, those other entrepreneurs can hardly hire good ideas like yours to get them going.

What about your website?

And, of course, let us not forget that your website is a fantastic place to let your creativity run free. The more unique your designs and content, the better chance you have of impressing. Of course, logical business owners can hire teams to take care of this issue, but it’s not the same. For one, there won’t be an overarching business vision. Those ideas won’t be theirs after all. Given that web presence is about the most important aspect of business right now, we’d say you have the edge here, too.

When you look at it like this, you could say that those logical thinkers are just jealous. It’s no surprise. You’re certainly set to give them a run for their money.
